Assateague Island lies on the east coast of Maryland and Virginia. It is a very popular campsite in the summer, especially since the wild ponies are prevalent and famous. Although I had vast notions of trekking out here at down to catch the morning light on the dunes, we didn't roll in until around 1 PM.
